Prof. Dr. Gungor TURAN Participated in the 9th EBES Conference

Many academicians from Epoka University, among whom the Head of Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan, participated in the 9th Euroasia Business and Economics Society – EBES Conference, held in Rome, Italy between January 11-13, 2013. The 9th EBES Conference took place at the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome and was supported by the Istanbul Economics Research Association.
This conference was attended by around 516 professors, researchers and professionals coming from 62 different countries. There were about 300 papers with a variety of topics presented in the conference. Epoka University was listed as the 2ndHigher Education Institution with the highest number of participants with 11 academicians.
Epoka University academicians participated in many sections by presenting their papers, focused on issues related to the Albanian economy; such as “Credit Card Usage in Albania”, presented by Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan, “An Analysis on Financial Performance of Telecommunication Companies after Merger” presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Üç, “Factors Contributing to Debt Crisis in Italy” presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Urmat Ryskulov. Assist. Prof. Dr. Yüksel Köksal presented the paper titled: “The Current Face of Newspaper Advertising in Albanian Market” etc. Epoka University academicians shared different ideas, making valuable suggestions to other participants from all over the world.
The 9th EBES Conference also was a good opportunity for increasing the Epoka University connections and getting in touch with other academicians of the same field of studies from other universities. Eurasia Business and Economics Society – EBES, is a scholarly association for scholars involved in the practice and study of economics, finance, and business worldwide. EBES was founded for the purpose of not only promoting academic research in the field of economics, finance, and business, but also encouraging the intellectual development of scholars and providing network opportunities for conference attendees for making long lasting academic cooperation.
