Elena Pici, Economics alumni starts working at Bank of Albania

Elena Pici, after graduating from Epoka University in the Department of Economics, won the prestigious UK Government Scholarship, Chevening and followed her MSc studies in Economic Development at London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE). She successfully graduated with Distinctions, with a dissertation topic on Albania: ‘Economic upgrading in Global Value Chains: Case of Textile and Footwear Industries in Albania’.
Upon graduation, Elena returned in Tirana, where she has started working at Bank of Albania, Supervision Department. At the same time, she has won a 6 months Program ‘Think Tank Development Program’ from Soros Foundation, Budapest and she has re-joined Epoka University, as a part-time lecturer of Introduction to Economics course.
‘ I am very glad to be again part of a University that has given me so much and has laid my professional grounds. It is very rewarding to be teaching at the same class where I have also taken my first economic lectures, as well as it is a big responsibility toward the students and the University to keep the level of teaching at global standards and to always try to bring innovation. I am very thankful to the Department of Economics for all the dedication and professionalism while I was a students and all the support and collaboration now that we are colleagues’ – says Elena
