Dirseo Pasha: Economics Graduate Starts Internship at the Dutch Embassy in Albania

Dirseo Pasha recently graduated from Epoka University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and has now begun an economics trainee internship at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania. A post by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Albania describes Dirseo as “excited to start his internship at the Embassy because he has the chance to make Albania a better place to live, by strengthening the Dutch-Albanian economic ties.”

Dirseo states that his Epoka experience has helped him in his new work:

“Being an Epoka alumnus already helped me a lot during the whole selection process at the Embassy. Epoka University through qualitative education not only improved my English and research/networking skills but also enhanced my knowledge on different business fields, not only on the theoretical side but also on how to put them into practice.”

Competition for the internship with the Embassy was stiff, but Dirseo attributed his internship experiences at Epoka to giving him a boost: “Internships and other events provided by the University surely gave me an advantage in my professional career.”

What advice does Dirseo give to other young people who are planning their professional paths? In his words:

“Focus more on learning by doing, even by volunteering work at NGOs. It is better to “experiment” by trying different work/startup related experiences in order to find out your strongest points and double down on them. That’s why I took a gap year before doing my Master’s.”
